McDonald’s Crispy Ranch Chicken Snack Wrap

When I first saw this item on the McDonald’s menu, I was first surprised. I had never heard of that before! To this day, nobody has ever mentioned to me that it exists. I procrastinated on buying it, mainly because the McChicken is a bit more than half of its price while seemingly more food. One day after school, though, I really wanted to try it, so I bought it. And I was surprised by the result.

Savour the Ranch Chicken Snack Wrap made with crispy chicken, shredded lettuce, Monterey Jack and light cheddar cheese blend, freshly wrapped in a soft, flour tortilla. -McDonald’s

The CRISPY Ranch Chicken Snack Wrap comes with two types of shredded cheese (fake cheese, I’m assuming), with lettuce, a chicken tender all in a tortilla wrap. Besides these, it is covered with ranch. There is an item at Wendy’s which is the exact same thing that I’ve had many times (considering I work there). The difference I tasted when having the McDonalds one (besides being cheaper), was that the chicken tasted better and the tortilla was better. While this could have just been based on how fresh these ingredients were, it definitely made a difference. This snack wrap is a good buy for children, as it will probably satisfy them while not being too many calories. It is also good as a snack, as it is in its name. You can pick this up when you simply need something to hold you over for a while.

Synopsis: While having the same ingredients as a similar Wendy’s item, the Ranch Chicken Snack Wrap that I had from McDonald’s was notably more fresh and delicious. Worth a try if you need a food item to hold you over very quickly and cheaply.

Wendy’s Barbecue Cheeseburger

The Wendy’s Barbecue Cheeseburger is one of the limited edition sandwiches brought back alongside the Sawesome Bacon Classic and the Peppercorn Mushroom Melt. This sandwich, while mostly unappealing to me at first, is actually surprisingly delightful and is something different compared to Wendy’s classic Dave burgers and the Baconators.

A quarter-pound* of fresh, never-frozen beef, crispy fried onions and American cheese, covered in sweet and smoky barbecue sauce all on a toasted bun.  This stampede of flavor is the best barbecue hamburger in the west–or north or south or east for that matter. – Wendy’s

This Wendy’s burger comes with pickles, fried onion tanglers, barbeque sauce, two slices of cheese and one large patty. Combining these ingredients sounds very strange, as most don’t think about putting barbecue sauce on their burger. Alongside this, Wendy’s fried onions are new, so their taste has not been well examined. These two ingredients, alongside the pickles for some extra flavor, really pack a punch. While on the sandwich I ate, I did not receive the fried onions T_T, I know that they are quite delicious if fresh.

This burger far exceeded my expectations, as I expected either a boring burger, as I have been bored with barbecue sauce quite recently, or a burger with a taste too strong. This delivered the good middle-ground that was needed on that cold Saturday night.

Synopsis: The Wendy’s Barbecue Cheeseburger mixes some ingredients that I personally would never put together, but they make it work. I would definitely order this burger over the others due to my boredom with the regular taste of Cheeseburgers. I would definitely recommend that you give this one a try.

Wendy’s Asiago Ranch Chicken Club

The Wendy’s Asiago Ranch Chicken Club is pretty great, as it ensures that there are enough ingredients so that the sandwich is not soggy (like many other Wendy’s to-go sandwiches). It comes with everything you’d expect on a chicken sandwich and some unexpected but delightful additions.

“A juicy, lightly breaded chicken breast taken over the top with thick Applewood smoked bacon, Asiago cheese, creamy ranch sauce, crisp lettuce, and tomato, all on a toasted bun. A club favorite that’s anything but boring.” – Wendy’s

Everything in this Wendy’s sandwich just works well together. First, the chicken, with three choices of either spicy, grilled, or homestyle. I would go with either homestyle or spicy since Wendy’s grilled chicken only works well in their salads. Then, lettuce and tomato add stable ingredients which basically work in any sandwich to add some needed texture and crunch. Bacon brings some meaty juices that the chicken doesn’t necessarily bring on its own. Then, there is Wendy’s Asiago cheese which adds a little bit of extra flavor while not being overpowering. Finally, the ranch dressing. Personally, I love ranch dressing and chicken, while some may despise it. This is more of a personal preference. On my sandwich, there was a bit too much which made it soggy, so doing lite ranch would’ve been a good idea.

Every time I go to Wendy’s, and I’m not feeling a salad or a four for four, I would definitely choose this sandwich .

Synopsis: The Wendy’s Asiago Ranch Chicken Club is fantastic, with ingredients that all work well together. In my own personal opinion, this is the sandwich of choice out of the sandwiches from 1-9 at Wendy’s. The bacon and Asiago cheese give this sandwich some bangin flavor.

Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich

The Chick-fil-A classic Chicken Sandwich is good and is exactly what it needs to be, chicken between two buns, with some pickles for extra flavors. Considering the options that can be added, this sandwich is exceptional, especially when fresh.

Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich

“A boneless breast of chicken seasoned to perfection, hand-breaded, pressure cooked in 100% refined peanut oil and served on a toasted, buttered bun with dill pickle chips.”  – Chick-fil-A

The Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich is great for one reason – the great chicken used. Somehow, Chick-fil-A has mastered the chicken patty, making it exceptionally juicy considering its quick creation. The pickles from Chick-fil-A are also some of the best that can be gotten, giving the sandwich is necessary flavor. In my own opinion, these chicken sandwiches are the greatest use for pickles out of any sandwich. The buns at Chick-fil-A are sad, considering the overall quality of the rest of their ingredients. They are boring, plain, and soggy, especially if delivered. Eating the sandwich at the restaurant brings a great quality boost.

The sandwiches from Chick-fil-A also have many great options, such as cheese. Adding cheese to this sandwich, while sadly not on the base model (but on the deluxe one) makes the sandwich much, much better. Also, mayonnaise can be added to the sandwich, and based off preference, can greatly improve the sandwich.

Synopsis: The Chick-fil-A classic Chicken Sandwich is great simply based on its excellent meat, and pickles bring a great required taste. Other things such as cheese and mayo can severely improve it, too. The bun, though, can be soggy and boring.

McDonald’s Cheeseburger

The McDonald’s Cheeseburger is alright, it is VERY cheap, and much better than many alternatives, so it isn’t a bad idea if you are on a budget.

“Our simple, classic cheeseburger begins with a 100% pure beef patty seasoned with just a pinch of salt and pepper. It’s topped with a tangy pickle, chopped onions, ketchup, mustard, and a slice of melty American cheese.” – McDonalds

The McDonalds cheeseburger is the classic fast food cheeseburger, so you would expect perfection, right? Well, they can’t make it even close to top tier quality due to the very cheap price, so they did a decent job making it cheap and still tasty. The cheeseburger has cut up onions, ketchup, mustard, pickles, cheese, and beef. Many of these ingredients work very well together considering what they are. This cheeseburger is on the McDonalds 1, 2, 3 menus, specifically on the 1. It seems almost like a snack burger, not being able to completely fill somebody up. The thing with this, though, is that 4 of these could be ordered and you would still be saving money compared to buying a Big Mac.

Synopsis: Considering its cheap price, and it’s decent taste, the McDonalds cheeseburger seems like the definition of an average cheap burger.

Wendy’s Jr. Cheeseburger

The Wendy’s Jr. Cheeseburger is sad, but that is kind of intentional, being the second cheapest sandwich you can buy from Wendy’s (the first being the Jr. Hamburger, which is a tier in its own).

“Fresh, never frozen beef topped with cheese, pickles, onion, ketchup, and mustard on a toasted bun. It’s done just right, and just the right size.” – Wendys

Wendy’s doesn’t really try when they make these sandwiches, and they really don’t need to. This is purely a value sandwich, and that is definitely what you receive. Usually, a sad quantity of lettuce, onions, and ketchup is received, with the obvious pickles. The sandwich also has mustard, which can bring some necessary flavor to the sandwich. This sandwich is really sad, and kind of depressing to even look at. Wendy’s workers many-a-time while have to create 8 of these in a row when multiple 4-for-4s are ordered, and those sandwiches are the worst things to ever even see.

The Jr. Cheeseburger has some great concept ingredients, but are usually given lackluster development in the creation stage, and with a miniature patty, this sandwich doesn’t bring much.

Synopsis: The Wendy’s Jr. Cheeseburger is bland and boring, and if you are going to order a 4-for-4, literally any other sandwich, besides the Jr. Hamburger, of course, would be a much better option.

Burger King’s Whopper JR

The Whopper JR is a good sandwich considering its very cheap price, consisting of mayo, ketchup, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles, and a sesame seed bun. The Whopper JR is missing one key ingredient, though – cheese.

WHOPPER JR.®

“Our WHOPPER JR.® Sandwich features one savory flame-grilled beef patty topped with juicy tomatoes, fresh lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, ketchup, crunchy pickles, and sliced white onions on a soft sesame seed bun.” – Burger King

Burger King’s Whopper JR. is probably the best sandwich to get from Burger King, considering the restaurant’s overall lack of quality. This is one of the cheapest sandwiches to get there, and yet still delivers a great taste which is much healthier than getting a giant burger. The onions are actually great on this sandwich, giving it a great taste, while the mayo, ketchup, and pickles bring the obvious necessary flavor that any sandwich deserves. The lettuce bring a nice juicy crunch, while the tomatoes don’t add much (but that’s my own opinion :/ ) The whopper junior seems to disappear very quickly for many of us hungry folk, but while you are eating it, it will deliver a great punch. The beef is a tiny bit too small, though, with just a little bit more size being able to make it even that much better.

The Whopper JR. is also missing cheese, a staple for nearly every burger that every non-lactose-intolerant, non-vegan and non-religious binding person is required to get on their burger. This would make the sandwich very good, and would make me actually want to go there. It can be added though, for a fee, which is just a nuisance.

Synopsis: The Burger King Whopper JR. is great for the price, and while a bit small and lacking in cheese, brings great potential.

Burger King’s Whopper

The Whopper is a decent sandwich, with the only thing hurting it being the quality of Burger King’s meat.

WHOPPER® Sandwich

https://www.bk.com/menu-item/whopper-sandwich

“Our WHOPPER® Sandwich is a ¼ lb* of savory flame-grilled beef topped with juicy tomatoes, fresh lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, ketchup, crunchy pickles, and sliced white onions on a soft sesame seed bun.” – Burger King

Burger King’s whopper burger is their standard burger to compete with McDonald’s quarter pounder. The Whopper uses some of the best burger ingredients out there: tomatoes, pickles, onions, lettuce, mayo, and ketchup. With the standard bun you would expect on most burgers, this sandwich is nearly ripe for exceptional taste. The only thing hurting it, though, is the meat. The meat on the whopper is decently sized, being 1/4lb, but the fake grill marks make it untastly. Burger king’s lack of flavor in their meat is what makes the competition better. Seemingly unsalted and flavorless chewy meat makes this sandwich far from perfect. The lettuce used by Burger King could also use an upgrade, being soggy and sad.

Synopsis: The Burger King Whopper has a good list of ingredients and nice style (and a nice name), but the lack of quality of meat used by Burger King and the sad, sad lettuce make this sandwich far from exceptional.

Arby’s Roast Beef Sandwich

Unless you love roast beef, and only that, skip this one.

“The Sandwich that put roast beef on the map” – Arbys

Lunch meats are great. Burgers are great. Fast food can be great. The problem arises, though, when you try to mix all of these things. The Arbys roast beef sandwich consists of two ingredients: the sesame seed bun and the roast beef. It is sad, too, as this is their standard sandwich. I would understand if this was either a kids or value sandwich, but more is necessary for a sandwich than just meat and buns to add variety to the taste.

The roast beef used in the Arbys sandwich isn’t the worst thing ever, but it certainly isn’t great. When I think of roast beef, I think of a nice sandwich with a lot of effort put into it, many ingredients taking the strong flavor from the roast beef and intermixing them with various other tastes. When there are only two ingredients, there is nowhere to go and nowhere to hide. The bun on the sandwich itself is actually pretty great, being stable and tasting pretty decent, but is ruined by the massive quantities of juices that come from the roast beef.

For whatever reason, Arbys thought laying the same meat over and over again would add anything to their sandwich. I couldn’t even imagine ordering the table or half pound varients, either.

Synopsis: The Arby’s roast beef sandwich is an easy pass for anyone. If you somehow do decide to go to Arby’s, order something with extra ingredients or the slider variant.

Wendy’s Sawesome Bacon Classic Double

The Wendy’s Sawesome Bacon Classic Double is a burger which has a taste as great as its name.

“What’s S’Awesome times two? You’re looking at it.” -Wendys

Video Review

In summary, the Sawesome Bacon Classic Double burger utilizes some of the best ingredients at Wendy’s disposal, excluding the onions of course. With two pieces of cheese for extra flavor, toasted buns, two large (never frozen) patties, juicy bacon, lettuce, pickles, onions, and the amazing Wendy’s sauce known as the ‘Sawesome Sauce’, you can’t go wrong with this burger. All of the flavors compliment each other, except for the onion which should be cooked due to their soggy and sad flavor. The Sawesome sauce tastes like nothing I have personally ever tasted on a burger.

Synopsis: The Sawesome Bacon Classic Double is the best choice for the new releases of the Wendys sandwiches, as it utilizes the perfect amount of meat and a great sauce which adds a new exciting flavor.
